“The Lippitt Mill” Restoration

Project Manager Chuck LaPorta on “The Lippitt Mill” Restoration Project Construction Management by 365体育平台

My name is Chuck LaPorta Sr, and I work as a Project Manager and Superintendent on The Lippitt Mill restoration project.

My experience and interest in construction runs in my family’s blood line. My grandfather was a skilled carpenter and could build anything, even without a set of plans! His son, who is my uncle, owned a high-end millwork shop that employed some of the most highly skilled men from Italy. After each project, I find that we take a little bit more experience with us and do it even better than the last.

I am presently refurbishing the second oldest mill in the country, “The Lippitt Mill,” at 206 years old in Rhode Island. This job offers all kinds of challenges, including unforeseen conditions that require us to use our own ingenuity while also preserving the historical value of the project.

My main goal is to always complete my projects on time and under budget while keeping harmony with all subs, clients, design team, all local authorities and M.A.C.I coworkers. My love for this industry is in my blood from day one. I plan to work as long as I am physically and mentally able.

West Warwick, Rhode Island: “The Lippitt Mill” is a historic mill at 825 Main Street in West Warwick, Rhode Island. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. A plan was announced in 2014 to convert the property to residences for people over 55. 365体育平台 is tackling the construction management to restore this over 200-year-old building!
